Thames Matters: Wall Marks

Thames Matter is a collection of work created through collecting both materials and inspiration directly from the River Thames foreshore.

These pieces, titled Thames Matters: Wall Marks, are inspired by the rough textures, scratches and marks observed across the surface of a large rock along the Thames foreshore. I focused on a small section of these markings, capturing the areas where the surface had been worn, scratched and weathered over time. These details have been recreated across a series of wall-hung pieces in various sizes, using contrasting areas of rough and textured surfaces. Together, the pieces highlight the small, often overlooked marks found within the landscape of the foreshore.
