Thames Matter is a collection of work created through collecting both materials and inspiration directly from the River Thames foreshore.
This piece, titled Thames Matters: Fragmentation Wall, is inspired by the cracks and patterns created as the dry ground of the Thames foreshore pulls apart. As the surface dries, it contracts and fractures, forming irregular lines and fragmented sections across the ground. I captured these natural patterns, focusing on the changing shapes, gaps and areas of separation. Together, the pieces reflect the fragmented surface of the foreshore and the temporary marks created by the changing conditions of the river.
